Gold Bar!
As 2012 is coming to a close and I look toward 2013 with enthusiasm and optimism I feel like I am left with a decision to make….should I consider changing the name of this blog to msTHEMEpeterson .com? Because try as I may, there is not much entertaining that happens in my home that isn’t based on a theme. Just this past holiday season I brought you the Mediterranean party, the Southern dinner, the chocolate bar, themed trees and themed salad, a bake party and on and on AND ON. So it should come as no surprise when I tell you that to ring in the new year I will be hosting a GOLD BAR! I chose gold because I think new year’s eve is a night that can really set the tone for the new year and I plan on 2013 being golden (too cheesy? If so, blame it on 2012)! Let’s start with the wall…I removed the art from some old picture frames and spray painted the frames gold. Then I simply took my Sam’s Club gold wrapping paper and “framed” it. It’s really quite a simple DIY and can really tie a room together.
While my gold spray paint is still out I moved over to my stem ware and gave it that extra kick! It’s pretty easy to do, but a word to the wise….wear gloves!
Then I just filled the table in with accouterments that matched my theme – lemons, golden carmel popcorn and, of course, champagne, white wine, sparkling water and ginger ale.
